Commando Memorial The Commando Memorial is a Category A listed monument in Lochaber, Scotland, dedicated to the men of the original British Commando Forces raised during World War II. During World War II Allied soldiers came to Spean Bridge for Commando training, which was part of Churchill's strategy to fight the Nazis all over Europe. British Commandos, United States Army Rangers and soldiers from Canada, France, Netherlands, Czechoslovakia, Poland and Belgium trained there.
